How to Verify a Supplier in China Before Your First Order

May 15, 20268 min read

Supplier verification starts with a precise technical specification. It should define the product characteristics, materials, order volume, packaging, labeling, and expected lead times.

Before making any payment, verify the company’s registration, business scope, and manufacturing capabilities. Catalog photographs do not prove that the supplier manufactures the required product.

The next step is a sample. It allows you to approve the appearance, materials, and product configuration before the main production run. All sample requirements should then be incorporated into the specification and quality-control checklist.

After comparing the commercial terms, define in advance who is responsible for inspection, documentation, packaging, and handover of the goods to the logistics provider.

The appropriate scope of inspections, documentation, and logistics is determined after we clarify the requirements for each specific product.
